The 1% Life

Congratulations for investing in yourself! Yeah, by reading this blog, you have shown that you are willing to become 1% better. All you need is to begin implementing just 1 habit at a time in your life, in order to live the 1% life. It’s always better to start small and develop more habits with time. Reading this post won’t make you 1% better, but implementing this will. This post is more focused on young youth, just like me. All i believe in is having a conversation with you, as a friend, not just some ordinary post on tips to improve life, nah, that’s literally so useless.


The 10 Success Habits (not just another boring list okay?) :- 1]. How you do one thing is how you do everything.

And yeah, that’s the only reason why you should make your bed every morning. Just try it out once, and you won’t stop making it ever since.

Messy bed = Messy life.

A very simple equation, isn’t it? But making your bed has a domino effect on your life. Creates focus and discipline somehow, it’s weird, but it’s true at the same time too! A simple challenge for you, make your bed for 30 days and watch your life change…


2]. Move, Hydrate, Sunlight

Yeah it’s important to get your lungs filled with air and get your blood circulating. If you do exercise (I know you don’t), then start adding 1 to the number of times you do an exercise. Move on from 30 crunches to 31. Adding one to everything has a psychological advantage, you feel more motivated and satisfied.


Hydrate: Yes you hate water, but you aren’t gonna drown in the water bottle right? Just think about it! You don’t drink water for 6- 8 hours when you're asleep. You wake up every morning, dehydrated. And it’s a fact that your brain is 30% less efficient when you’re dehydrated. Let me give you a very good example, Einstein didn’t have hydrophobia, maybe this is the most probable reason why he was Einstein? You got it!


Sunlight: It’s annoying, I know, but soaking your body into sunlight for at least 20 minutes a day does have a huge positive effect on your circadian system. In simple words, it improves your sleep. Somehow maybe your friends will stop teasing you just because you have dark circles around your eyes 😂.


3]. Read:

Did you just say that you read a lot? Well, that’s useless for most of the part. Just 20 minutes a day is all you need, but it must be a book that either you are curious about, or wether the subject matter is directly relevant to your future goals. If it’s anything apart from this, you’re likely wasting time by just reading what has no practical application in your life. Read wisely, nothing else.


4]. Prioritize the MITs

MIT stands for most important tasks. You must include growth tasks that bring you closer to your goals.

Eg.: Read a book you’ve been avoiding so you can open yourself to new ideas.

For prioritizing tasks, all you need to do is ask yourself is “What task if completed first will make everything easier or irrelevant?”.

Smash those 3 tasks before doing anything else. Life becomes a lot easier.


5]. Scheduling Your Day:

How many times have you put down your phone at the end of the night and thought to yourself- “Where the hell did the time go? I got nothing done!” The answer is everyone forever. One big cause for this is because you did not block out time for your day.

“If it ain’t your schedule, it ain’t happening.”

Even though you are a free- going person, having a schedule doesn’t mean that you can’t have freedom.


6]. The Pomodoro Technique:

This is simple. You work for 25 minutes, and then take a 5 minute break. And then repeat it again and again as many times as you like. This allows you to work for longer periods without getting stressed out.


7]. Connect:

Connect with someone smarter than you, otherwise you end up in the fiery pit of anti- success. This should become a habit. Connect with people who are smarter than you, and who have already achieved the results that you aspire to achieve.


8]. Speak Clean:

The words you use says a lot about your mindset. And your mindset drives your lives. You change your life by changing the words you use.

Whenever you speak something negative, just pause, breathe, and say the opposite. Makes a hell lotta change.


9]. Dress for Success:

As teenagers, we might feel that dressing well doesn’t matter much. You are wrong. Dead wrong. Wearing oversized pants to a loose fitting t-shirt? Well, you’re on your path to anti- success. Happy journey!

Just remember that people evaluate your worth and treat you based on your appearance. It’s simple, dress like a homeless person, and you’ll be treated like one. Dress like a businessman, and you’ll be treated like one. Accompany proper dressing with proper grooming, They have to go hand in hand every time.


10]. Be Held Accountable:

Joining or creating your own mastermind group where you can hold each other accountable is the best investment you can ever make. The most common trap you’ll fall into is setting the bar too high for yourself. Humans suck at estimating how long things will take, but you’ll get better with time.

Holy crap, does smiling even make a difference? Try it now. I’ll wait…

The body is the mind. Neurons fire when you smile. It may not get you out of deep depression, but hell it can help he average joe have a merrier day. And the best part is you have complete control over your smile, and it’s absolutely free. You smile more, you get more friends, your chances of succeeding with your team increase, and what not!


Let’s end it now. It takes 66 days for a person to develop a habit. Multitasking is a big mistake. Develop one habit at a time. Make a new habit once in every 30 days, as the previous one becomes semi- automatic!

Stop setting the bar so high that you can’t be bothered maintaining your habit.


Start establishing your why. When you are feeling like giving up, just ask why. Why did you start all of this in the first place? That’s what ignites the fire within you.


Never ever miss 2 days in a row. If you miss it 1 day, it decreases your odds of adopting that habit by 5%. But if you miss it the 2nd day, it reduces the odds to 55%.


Done. That’s it for now maybe. Just remember this, your life won't change until your habits do.
